Watch: E! Looks Back at Jennifer Lawrence in 2011!

Jennifer Lawrence was pretty much always adorable...and often, adorably awkward at celebrity events.

Before she wielded a bow and arrow as Katniss Everdeen, The Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence was introduced to much of the world as a relatively unknown Oscar nominee. She was just 20 years old when she was nominated for her first Academy Award, for her performance in Winter's Bone, her breakout role. She had previously starred on the TBS comedy series The Bill Engvall Show and the shows MediumCold Case and Monk (as a high school mascot!).

Lawrence was very surprised that Winter's Bone got Oscar buzz.

"Uh, I dunno," she told E! News at the National Board of Review of Motion Pictures Gala at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City in 2011, laughing nervously. "That was funny. Um, sorry, I don't know what to say about it! I just get really awkward and clam up when people bring it up, like right now."

"None of us saw this coming," she said. "I know I didn't."

The actress, who made her comments a month before the 2011 Oscars, talked about getting "de-glammed" for Winter's Bone.

"I had my teeth yellowed every day, but yeah, it was cool," she said. "I didn't really mind. I just kind of, I just got to roll out of bed and like, come to work. I didn't really have to worry about anything."

Lawrence got re-glammed at the 2011 Oscars, where she walked the red carpet in a sleeveless, sleek red Calvin Klein gown. Natalie Portman ended up winning the Oscar in her category, for Black Swan.

The following year, Lawrence starred in Silver Linings Playbook with Bradley Cooper. Both were nominated for Oscars for their performances and the actress won in the leading actress category.

Lawrence and Cooper also both starred in American Hustle, which also garnered both Oscar nominations for their supporting roles in 2014. Neither took home an award. Lawrence lost to Lupita Nyong'o for 12 Years a Slave.

Lawrence famously fell while walking onto the stage at the 2013 Oscars and on the red carpet at the 2014 event. She had another encore of what has become somewhat of a signature move at the Madrid premiere of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay—Part 2 last week.

Lawrence, now 25, reprises her role as heroine Katniss Everdeen in the movie, which will be released officially on Friday. She and her co-stars, including Liam Hemsworth, 25, and Josh Hutcherson, 23, walked their last red carpet for the film on Wednesday, at the movie's premiere in New York City. Lawrence avoided any spills.
