Both Stephen Colbert and Justin Theroux are notable talents in Hollywood, but when it comes to making facial expressions, who comes out on top? The late-night talk show host was determined to find out.

During Wednesday night's episode of The Late Show, the 51-year-old comedian challenged The Leftovers actor to a unique physical duel.

"You can tell how hard or you can actually see the thoughts on the face of Justin Theroux...you can really see the thinking of Justin Theroux when he's not talking," Colbert said as he introduced his guest. "We see the wheels turning."

The Emmy winner decided to put those unique skills to the test, but limited his expression to solely his eyebrows.

"Not everyone has your eyebrows. I have been known to act with my eyebrows as well. Could I challenge you to an eyebrow acting challenge?" Colbert asked. "I need you to act from the nose up."

So, the HBO star immediately put his thick, but shapely brows to work in a series of hysterical hypothetical situations.

Some of the prompts included expressions for when you realize you forget you Apple password, the point at which a flatbread becomes a pizza, if it's ever appropriate to tip your dentist and if that funky smell is emanating off of you.

One by one, the duo took turns between reading the situations off the mystery cards and playing them out before the cameras and audience.

Our expert critique: while Theroux's brows were impressive in shape, they were no match for the sheer flexibility of Colbert's, who managed to make them almost leap off his forehead while depicting the undefined stages of a pizza.

Nice work, gentlemen, but we dub Colbert the Eyebrow King of 2015.
