Uh-oh. Nordstrom is the latest retailer under fire for selling offensive holiday gear, Fortune reports. (Hey, free returns, right?)

The sweater, by Faux Real, features the play on words "Chai Maintenance" on its front. Pronounced "high maintenance," many are saying the sweater promotes unfair Jewish stereotypes.

The chain joins Target, which recently got heat for selling a Christmas sweater with the words "Obsessive Christmas Disorder," on the holiday hot seat; though, despite complaints the phrase was making a mockery of mental illness, Target is still selling the item on its website.

But Nordstrom, ever one with the customer service, heeded the call to remove the offending item.

A rep for the department store told Fashionista, "We made a mistake by not looking more closely at the words on the sweater before we posted it—had we done so, we wouldn't have offered it. As soon as we heard from customers, we removed it from our site right away. We're terribly sorry for offending people and sincerely apologize."
