Nobody is quite as excited as Bindi Irwin is to make the Dancing With the Stars finals, but is it a surprise? The 17-year-old has been wowing the judges throughout the competition.
"I'm just so honored to be here. I never in my wildest dreams thought that I'd be able to make it to here. I'm extremely grateful for everyone's support and allowing us to stay and also for Derek's continued amazingness," Bindi said.
However, there was a real surprise that her pro partner Derek Hough helped pull off.
Derek helped surprise Bindi by bringing in her boyfriend, Chandler Powell, to rehearsals on Saturday, Chandler's birthday. "She was like, 'Oh my gosh, what are you doing here?' and she starts fixing her hair…it was so cute to see," Derek told E! News backstage after their big performances. "It was great. We got to surprise her and I was so happy."
"It was so much fun," Bindi gushed. "And it was Steve Irwin Day as well, so I got the two greatest days. We got to celebrate Chandler's birthday and then celebrate Steve Irwin Day all together. It was really, really nice."
This was Bindi's first Steve Irwin Day away from her home in Australia, so she said having Chandler there and her DWTS pals wearing khaki around the studios was nice.
