Alan Arkin is on the mend.

The 81-year-old had a mini-stroke, his rep confirmed to E! News Friday. The Love the Coopers' star's rep added that he is doing "fine" and was in the hospital for one day.A source tells E! News Arkin is with friends and family now, reiterating that the Oscar Winner is not in serious condition.

We're glad the veteran screen and stage star is going to be OK—Arkin's long and impressive career isn't showing any signs of slowing down! His newest film, Meet the Coopers, hits theaters Friday, but he's also celebrated for his roles in Argo, Little Miss Sunshine and Edward Scissorhands.

In a 2007 CBS interview with Jerry Bowen, Arkin opened how he knows if a character he's playing really resonates. "When it's doing you, and you're not doing it," he said. "It's like anything else in life, there's a place if you're devoted enough to an area of your life, you'll find it's starting to do you. That, to me, is the most joyous experience possible in any area when things start happening and you don't have any say over the matter. You're just watching it take place through you and around you."

"If I'm lucky, once in a while, it happens with a character for a few minutes," he said.
