Watch: Does Christian Bale Like Ben Affleck as Batman?

Christian Bale remains "totally oblivious" about Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, the new sequel film that sees Ben Affleck taking over his previous iconic role as the Caped Crusader.

Bale, 41, shared his thoughts on the film with E! News' Zuri Hall at the Hollywood premiere of his latest movie, The Big Short, during 2015 AFI Fest.

"I'm not thinking anything," Bale said about Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. "I'm sort of totally oblivious to it—I've removed myself but, um, you know, yeah, I mean, great...I'm happy to have to done it and I'm happy to see what someone else does with it."

The actor had played Batman and alter ego Bruce Wayne in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Night trilogy, whose last film, The Dark Knight Rises, was released in 2012. Two years later, Bale was quoted as telling  Empire magazine that he had felt jealous that someone else would be playing the superhero and that he had offered Affleck some advice via email.

In July, Affleck spoke at the Batman v Superman panel at 2015 San Diego Comic-Con and recalled bumping into Bale while shopping for a Halloween costume for his and now-estranged wife Jennifer Garner's son Samuel, now 3 years old.

"My son is really into Batman, wisely," Affleck joked. "We went to a store, a costume store in Los Angeles. It was pretty empty and I was in the aisle and I heard this 'Oi!' and I turned around, and it's Christian Bale, who is the sweetest guy in the world. And there he and I are, standing in the Batman costume row and I said, 'Look man, you're the best. Like, what do you think? Do you have any tips?'"

Bale's advice, Affleck said, was, 'Make sure you can piss in that suit.'"
