CBSYou'll recognize many of the travelers headed around the world on the upcoming season of The Amazing Race, because the latest group of Racers is comprised of the biggest social media stars around. E! News can exclusively reveal the first team competing on the Race this season: YouTube superstar Tyler Oakley and his podcasting BFF Korey Kuhl.
The influencers, based in Los Angeles, host the Psychobabble podcast together and have nearly 5 million combined followers on Twitter. The outspoken Oakley (who's a big fan of E! News) has more than 7.7 million subscribers on his YouTube channel, and is set to release his first movie, Snervous, on Dec. 11 (yes, when he will probably still be running the Race!).
The pair will join 10 other teams of Internet-savvy contestants on the long-running CBS reality hit, including Viners, vloggers, gamers, Instagrammers and more, as they leave for the first leg of the Race in the coming days. Host Phil Keoghan will livestream video from the mystery location as the teams begin the competition.
While the Race has hosted social media stars in the past, including YouTubers Joey Graceffa and Meghan Camarena—twice!—this is the first time the whole cast is filled with plugged-in people competing for the $1 million grand prize. They'll complete physical and mental challenges in countries all over the world in their quest for the title.
Season 28 of The Amazing Race begins filming in the coming days, but will air in early 2016. There are still six teams left competing in season 27, which airs Fridays at 8 p.m. on CBS.
