Tamar Braxton's quest for the top spot on Dancing With the Stars is over. The singer took to Instagram to announce her exit from the show with partner Val Chmerkovskiy by her side. She also had to cancel the rest of her tour dates.

"With a Heavy heart I regret to inform you that my season of #dwts has to come to an end along with the rest of my tour dates with @musicbykem. After yesterday's final #dwts performance I went back to the hospital (after the doctors didn't want me to leave in the first place) only to find out that I don't have pneumonia but something way more serious and that is having several P.E.'s (blood clots in both sides of my lungs)," she wrote.

The reality star also praised Val. "Big hugs and kisses to my boo @iamvalc for being beyond a friend, brother and the BEST partner EVER," she said. You can read her full statement below.

But in this case, my health is my current obstacle. .. And in TRUE #tamartian form I must go about this the exact same way as I would anything else. I woke up to a mirror and saw myself this morning and that makes me the winner because that almost wasn't the case. ??Take care of yourselves... I love you and thank you ALL for your support?? p.s. Big hugs and kisses to my boo @iamvalc for being beyond a friend, brother and the BEST partner EVER??????????

Tamar and Val were judged on their dress rehearsal performance on Monday's Dancing With the Stars while Tamar was in the emergency room. She ended up making it to the show in time to do her group dance with Backstreet Boys' Nick Carter and avoided disqualification and elimination. Alexa PenaVega was eliminated.

After the show, Val sent a special message to Tamar through E! News' Sibley Scoles.

"Tamar, I love you. You are a trooper, you're a great role model to your son and I'm so proud of you," Val told us about his partner after Monday's show.

The pro dancer also took to Twitter to address on haters. "To the people leaving senseless foul hateful comments on my last insta post... youll answer for that.that hate you spew, you'll pay for that," he said in a series of tweets. "So passionate about hating someone, over a dance show?? Y'all crazy.. next To everyone that's been supportive and understanding... thank you!! Your words mean a lot. You mean the world, to Tamar and I. God bless you."

Tamar's not the only contestant to be sidelined for health issues. Don't Be Tardy star Kim Zolciak was forced to withdraw from the competition after she was hospitalized for a mini stroke.

Request for comment from ABC was not immediately returned.

Dancing With the Stars airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on ABC.
