NBC is continuing to love Chicago. The network announced early renewals for Chicago Fire and Chicago PD at a massive party honoring both shows and newcomer Chicago Med. All three shows hail from mega producer Dick Wolf—you know, the guy behind Law & Order. The 2016-17 seasons will be Chicago Fire's fifth and Chicago PD's fourth.

"We couldn't be happier," NBC's Bob Greenblatt told attendees at the Chicago event.

Greenblatt said there have been 1,053 episodes of Law & Order shows and Wolf has employed 35,000 actors across the franchise. In the Chicago world, they've produced 150 episodes and employed 5,000 actors.

"That was a cheap trick," Wolf said. "I get way too much credit, but then I do get all the blame. We are telling the story of first responders that you can't pay people to do...you can't pay people to run into burning buildings."

As for his plans, well, "I hope we're here for the next decade." Given his track record, that certainly seems feasible. Law & Order: SVU, the only Law & Order series still on the air, is now in its 17th season. Chicago Med premieres Tuesday, Nov. 17, at 9 p.m. on NBC.

A three-way crossover is in the works for all Chicago shows and a four-way crossover with Chicago shows and SVU is planned for February. A decision regarding Chicago Med's fate will be made at a later date.

Chicago Fire airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. and Chicago PD airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. after SVU on NBC.
