Ellen DeGeneres isn't alone.

Since Jimmy Kimmel Live! premiered in January 2003, the host has become known for many notable segments—among them: his love for pranks.

Long story short: Jimmy Kimmel loves messing with people.

Being his friend or loved one doesn't mean you're safe either. If anything, Kimmel enjoys trolling the people he cares for the most even more than he likes doing it to random strangers.

To celebrate the late-night host's 48th birthday today, we're looking back at our favorite Kimmel tricks of all time.

1. Hey Jimmy Kimmel, I Silverstoned My Kid:

One of Kimmel's favorite pastimes is pranking kids. The comedian has been known to challenge viewers to film themselves performing a themed challenge and posting it to YouTube. In the above segment, the host asked parents to pre-chew food for their kids, similar to actress Alicia Silverstone's mouth-feeding practice with her little one, and post what happened. The result: Kids getting majorly grossed out and annoyed.

2. Hey Jimmy Kimmel I Unplugged the TV During the Game:

Another segment where Kimmel encouraged viewers to turn their families against them? The host asked fans to unplug the TV during a crucial moment in the Super Bowl to see what would happen. The host promised only 30 people were hospitalized as a result. The rest are hilarious (and include a lot of obscenities.)

3. Emily Blunt & John Krasinski Prank Jimmy Kimmel:

Kimmel and his wife have a holiday tradition of epic pranks with John Krasinski and Emily Blunt. The video above features a timeline of their seasonal prank war, most recently with Krasinski and Blunt getting their revenge on Kimmel last year. We can't wait to see what happens this Christmas.

4. Jimmy's Accidental Selfie Prank:

After falling for a text message prank from Will Arnett, where Kimmel accidentally took an unflattering iPhone selfie and automatically sent it, the host decided to then trick all of his friends with the same move. The result is it pretty much worked on everyone in his contact list. Plus, we're treated to a toilet selfie from Black-ish star Anthony Anderson.

5. I Told My Kids I Ate All Their Halloween Candy:

Among Kimmel's recurring annual pranks is when the host asks fans to film their kids' reactions as they break the news that they ate all of their little ones' Halloween candy. So. Many. Tears.

6. I Gave My Kids a Terrible Present:

Is no holiday safe, Jimmy?! Beyond Halloween, Kimmel has urged viewers to give their children terrible Christmas gifts and show how they dealt with it. Eggs, batteries, old bananas, a hot dog... these kids are clearly not amused.

7. Hey Jimmy Kimmel, I Sprayed My Dad With a Hose:

In his tradition of bringing families together through terrible tricks, the TV host asked children to retaliate against their parents by spraying their dads with a hose and filming the reactions. What a wonderful way to welcome Father's Day.

8. Jimmy Kimmel and Cousin Sal Prank Aunt Chippy - Fake Sonogram:

Aunt Chippy has been the subject of more than one prank on Jimmy Kimmel Live! One of the most memorable tricks is when Chippy accompanied Jimmy and Sal's cousin Micki to a sonogram appointment. What she saw was definitely a surprise.

9. Rihanna Pranks Jimmy Kimmel:

Another time the tables were turned on Kimmel? When Rihanna played a late-night April Fools' trick on the host by waking him up at home and performing "Bitch Better Have My Money" in his bedroom. His look of confusion is just too perfect.

10. Jimmy Kimmel Reveals "Worst Twerk Fail EVER - Girl Catches Fire" Prank

Kimmel has expanded his prank game to trolling the entire Internet, and the media, by staging fake viral videos. You may remember the video above, which features a twerking girl who catches on fire, which it was later revealed was a video made by Kimmel himself to get YouTube hits.

11. Jimmy Kimmel Reveals "Epic #SochiFail: Wolf in My Hall" Prank:

Another time when Kimmel trolled the media? When he made people think wolves were wandering the hallways where Olympians were staying in Sochi.

12. I Did Nothing to the Coffee:

Of course, April Fools' Day is a special day at Jimmy Kimmel Live! This year, to celebrate, Kimmel told viewers to prank their loved ones by pretending like something may have happened to their coffee. This was a true exercise in trust.

13. I Gave My Wife or Girlfriend A Terrible Gift For Valentine's Day:

Another mean gift prank, Kimmel had people give awful tokens of affection to the women in their lives. Among the presents: bugs, lizards, and chicken feet. Surprisingly, those aren't the worst of the gifts.

14. Waking Kids Up for School in Summer:

Kids are resilient, and thank goodness, because Kimmel has been the cause of a lot tricks on our nation's children. The host had parents wake their sons and daughters up early during their summer break to make them think they still had to get ready for school.

15. I Served My Dad Breakfast in the Shower:

Another Father's Day highlight was when Kimmel asked kids to serve their dads breakfast... in the shower. It seems a little much, but don't forget these are probably the same dads who ate their kids' Halloween candy, right?
