Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton officially have taken their romance public, announcing to the world that they are, in fact, dating. Even though they didn't sit next to each other at Wednesday's Country Music Awards, the new couple still managed to make waves before the evening's main event, releasing a statement to confirm their newfound coupledom.

Gwen and Blake first got the rumor mill moving when E! News shared exclusive photos of the duo looking cozier than usual at Maroon 5's Halloween party, but Blake's co-worker, Carson Daly, kept quiet on the Today show. When questioned by his co-hosts about the potential romance, Daly said he didn't know anything, but Thursday morning that all changed.

"C'mon I'm a loyal guy," he told his co-hosts, before admitting, "I didn't know.

"I didn't think Blake could get a girl as hot as Gwen to be honest," he continued. "He's a goofy cowboy. She's the queen of cool. But God bless them. They're two of the nicest people in the business."

The Today show team is rooting for this new duo! "We're thrilled that they're finding each other," Daly added. "Good luck. We love you."

Savannah Guthrie, Natalie Morales and Matt Lauer had to ask if Daly was surprised by the news, given he works with both celebrities on The Voice. "I am not shocked after the Halloween photos came out," he said.

They all complimented the former Total Request Live host's dedication to his pals, so he simply added, "It wasn't my story to tell."

Daly wasn't the only person to express his surprise at the unexpected couple. Country music star Luke Bryan also couldn't believe that his friend was dating such a rock star and told E! NewsCarissa Loethen he wanted proof.

"You're trying to trick me…Pull up online," he told Loethen. "I need to see where Blake has stated that."

After some convincing, Bryan finally relented, "It can't be true, because there's no way Blake could ever score a girl like that. It's not true."

It's true!

Blake Shelton might have found someone else, but that didn't stop the CMA hosts from putting his love life on blast.
