There's a dark side to fame and, thanks to Jimmy Kimmel, it's proving to be quite entertaining.

In a brand new edition of the late-night talk show host's "Mean Tweets," a segment of Jimmy Kimmel Live! where celebrities read mean tweets about themselves on camera, he gathered a special round of country stars in celebration of the 2015 Country Music Awards. While many of the musicians walked away from the televised award show toting signature silver statues Wednesday night, according to Twitter users, they are far from champions.

The tweets ranged from insulting to disgusting to downright crazy, but a majority of the country crooners had the same reaction—hysterical laughter.

The segment kicked off with this bitter tweet for the CMA's Entertainer of the Year, Luke Bryan.

"You ever gotten so drunk you said a Luke Bryan song actually wasn't that bad?" Bryan read. "Me neither." Ouch!

Another relatively subtle, but cruel remark was directed at American Idol winner, Scotty McCreery

"Gross," it began. "I just thought of Scotty McCreery."

The insults picked up, aiming more for the physical. "Why does Kacey Musgraves look like the house band at Chilis?" the "Biscuits" singer read with a downtrodden expression.

"I'm legitimately pissed off at the fact that Thomas Rhett is ugly," the 25-year-old "Crash and Burn" cutie read with utter confusion. "Like what're you doin man? Your voice and looks don't match." The country hunk managed to muster up a "Sorry?"

"One time someone took a s--t, rubbed it all over a blank disc, put it into a CD player and out came the first Brad Paisley album," the CMA co-host read awkwardly.

Then, the insults turned plain bizarre.

"Hunter Hayes is so tiny he sleeps in a hot dog bun," one Twitter user said of the 25-year-old singer. "How'd you know?" he responded.

"Marijuana works wonders. Just look at Willie Nelson. Bastard is still alive and won't die," a morbid observer wrote. The 82-year-old country icon kindly replied, "You got it, darlin'."

Carrie Underwood, who routinely performs to sold out concerts, could barely read the insult aimed at her. "Didn't really like da carrie underwood concert seem do dull it had no excitement brong bck da soccer team."

After much stomach-cramping laughter, the segment finished off with a punch bang.

"Little Big Town I would buy a ticket to one of you're concerts just so I could punch each of you in the face."

"Wow, people are mean!" group member Kimberly Schlapman exclaimed in shock. Yes, Kim. Yes, they are.
