It's the Monday after Halloween—how's your skin?

If you donned spooky skeleton makeup, a full-coverage zombie face or even an extra layer of foundation, you might want to consider giving your complexion a breather. Any excess amount of product can even further clog those pores, after all.

So now that you gave your face a good cleanse and rehydrated it with your favorite moisturizer, you might even want to dial down the makeup—just for the next few days. How do wear fewer products without looking like last weekend's lifeless costumes? Try these fresh-faced tips!

First, hydrate your skin as you even out discoloration. Instead of using your typical foundation, try applying a lighter-weight tinted moisturizer (like Tarte Amazonian Clay BB Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 20 Sunscreen) with a Beautyblender. The makeup sponge delivers even coverage without absorbing excess product, giving you that air-brush-like look while letting your skin breathe a bit more.

Now that you've set your lightweight base, you need only to create dimension at a few strategic areas. Instead of your whole contouring or bronzing process, use an illuminating highlighter, like Benefit Cosmetics High Beam Liquid Face Highlighter or Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder, at the high points of your face—your cheekbones, brow bones, nose bridge and tip—for a naturally luminous glow.

Lastly, bring life to your face with a little dual-action flush. A touch of two-in-one cheek and lip stain will give you that much-needed color. It's a low-maintenance step but it's the difference between washed out and fresh faced. While you can use any tint, moisturizing products, like The Body Shop Lip & Cheek Stain and 100% Pure Fruit Pigmented Lip & Cheek Tint, might be the best options post-Halloween—or, really, after any full-makeup occasion.
