While the rest of America was doling out candy on Oct. 31, Donald Trump was doling out disses. Unfortunately for this Republican presidential hopeful, he's not getting away with his latest insults that easily.

On Saturday, Mr. Trump declared in a tweet to political publication, The Hill, that he said "no thanks" to an invite on John Oliver's late-night news roundup on HBO, Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, claiming that the Emmy-winning program is "very boring" and "low rated."

"@thehill John Oliver had his people call to ask me to be on his very boring and low rated show. I said 'NO THANKS' Waste of time & energy!" the billionaire tweeted

However, the host swiftly set the record straight—don't worry Mr. Trump, you were never invited.

On Sunday, the 38-year-old Daily Show alum retweeted a post from the show's account, which aimed to clear the air on two points.

"A couple of points... 1. Yes, we have a boring show. 2. At no point did we invite Donald Trump to appear on it," the account wrote.

While Trump's political camp has yet to offer a follow-up response, the candidate's polling results remain strong on the heels of the third Republican debate— a silent confirmation that he won't be changing his tune anytime soon. However, Republican contender Ben Carson seems to have caught up to his opponent, pulling even with him in the latest polling. Still, Trump's brash public commentary seems to remain at full speed.

In addition to this Last Week hiccup, while speaking at a rally in New Hampshire, the business mogul also alleged that women who opt to wear burkas in the Middle East have it easier because they don't need to wear makeup.

All eyes will certainly be watching as Trump takes the SNL stage on Nov. 7 for the second time in his career, but we can't wait to see how Oliver's review of the performance will read. Hopefully, he doesn't think it's "very boring."
