Now that Halloween is officially one day away, it's time to amp up appropriate movies to get in the spirit. So, what better way than watching Hocus Pocus?!

The cult classic film has been making headlines all month due to rampant speculation that there might be a sequel in the works. Cast members such as Sarah Jessica Parker and Bette Midler have expressed their willingness to participate in a follow-up, and the latter actress even joked on Twitter recently that the only reason one hasn't been made yet is because of a holdup in production.

".@kathynajimy .@SJP Breaking news!! SEQUEL DELAYED!! @Disney having trouble finding a virgin! #HocusPocus," she tweeted.

But in a new interview with Yahoo! producer and co-writer David Kirschner reveals that the movie that transformed from a box-office flop to an instant classic might live to see another day in the form of a sequel. Kirschner told the publication that a few years ago Disney passed on the theatrical pitch but admitted that he's still waiting to hear back about a second Hocus Pocus in the form of a Disney Channel Original Movie.

SJP confessed to Buzzfeed last week that she hasn't seen her beloved film since it came out—gasp—but we were able to get over it once she said she would be totally up for making another (which we can only hope she would watch). "I said I would! And I got in so much trouble on Twitter for it," she recalled.

Don't make promises you can't keep, SJP.

Now that Kirschner has revealed that Hocus Pocus could return in a new, small-screen version, we're pretty amped. C'mon, Disney, do the right thing. In the meantime, fans can relive the movie at Disney World where a new show is being presented during Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.

According to Disney blogs, the show will "gather together sinister shadows, nefarious nightmares and the power of their frightful friends to conjure the ultimate Hocus Pocus Party Potion and cast a spell on everyone in the Magic Kingdom Park."
