Leah Remini wants the world to see the truth behind the Church of Scientology—not just for her sake, but for the sake of children who are currently involved in it.

In another sneak peek for her upcoming 20/20 interview, which will air on Friday, Oct. 30, the former King of Queens actress reveals the pressures of being raised in Scientology and how it affects a child's mentality.

"The mission is to save the planet," she explains to ABC News' Dan Harris. "And because Scientologists view children as spiritual beings, you're not treated as a kid. You're given a lot of responsibility, and so your ego becomes extremely inflated."

She explains how, as a child, she was forced by her mother into the church to be put "on course," as she describes it. "You learn to apply the techniques to yourself and others."

After spending three decades doing this, Remini confesses in a previous sneak peek, "As time goes on, you start to lose touch with the real world. The mindset becomes us against them."

Thus, her goal after leaving the church is to open people's eyes to the major transition she had to make to move forward—something she admits was incredibly difficult.

"The decision to leave is you're giving up everything you have ever known, and everything you have ever worked for your whole life," she reveals. "I feel that people need to understand this has been my whole life. I want them to understand how it happens."

The revealing interview comes just before the actress is set to release her new tell-all memoir titled Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology.

According to Ballantine Books, the memoir will be a "moving and eye-opening account" of Remini's 30 years within the church. "Bold, brash, and bravely confessional, Troublemaker chronicles Leah Remini's remarkable journey toward emotional and spiritual freedom, both for herself and for her family."
