For people who grew up in the ‘90s, that decade is precious. It's kind of like that ex-boyfriend of yours from five years ago. Back then, you probably didn't care for it that much and weren't too fond of his memory after you guys broke up.

But now, living in 2015, looking back on that ex-boyfriend brings on waves of nostalgia that make you miss everything you had. That's what the ‘90s are to that particular generation. Living in it, we didn't know how wonderful we had it. And now, when we look back at the boybands, the AIM chat conversations and the TGIF lineup, we ache for that period in our life.

Of course, the ‘90s also had downsides. Slow Internet speed meant waiting hours for one song to download. Fun fact: the first song we ever "borrowed" from the Internet was "Smooth" by Rob Thomas and Carlos Santana. And if you ran out of gas on the side of the road? No cell phone call for you, dude. You're walking to the nearest pay phone. Which reminds us: you had to memorize phone numbers! Gross.

So that's why the Twitter's #Whenthe90shad is so damn accurate. It mostly sings the praises of that decade, but there are also quite a few reminders that 2015 is leaps and bounds ahead of the era of Tamagotchis and frosted tips.

The Utter Horror of the '90s:

So, should we miss the era of the '90s or long for it? On one hand, we can now order pizza using just emojis. On the other hand...TGIF TV lineup! Right?!
