Not everyone wants to be in Blake Shelton's company.

The Voice coach learned that the hard way recently after Christina Aguilera's fiancé, Matthew Rutler, asked him if he would take a picture with their 15-month-old daughter, Summer Rain Rutler, on the set of NBC's hit series. Blake obliged, Summer Rain panicked, and Matthew posted the photo on Instagram. Blake then addressed it on NBC's Late Night Tuesday.

"So, you met Christina Aguilera's baby. How would you say it went?" Seth Meyers said with a laugh. "Because I'm going to show the photo and I'm going to give you a chance to frame it first."

"You know, I'm not good with babies. I just haven't quite gotten the hang—" Blake began, just before the host showed the audience the photo and joked, "Really? Because I would say this baby is desperately trying to get away from you. Look at that! That hand is reaching for help."

So, what happened? "Matt, which is [Christina's] baby daddy, came up and was like, 'Will you take this picture?' I was like, 'Man. I mean, I guess.' I mean, I have clearly been drinking in that picture. So, I'm like, 'Are you sure you want me?' Like, I'm not the guy. And the baby senses that a little bit," Blake said. "I don't want to hurt the baby and I could fall in that picture probably."

"This baby has a good sense of people," Seth said, adding that Summer Rain is a "good judge of character." Jokes aside, Blake said, "I will say, those two make some good looking babies. That's probably not her best picture. Normally she's adorable and has a cute smile and beautiful eyes."

His experience with Summer Rain aside, the country crooner is usually a hit with kids.

"I like babies! I just don't want to drop one," Blake said. "That's all I'm saying."
