It's a bird, it's a plane, it's a...fall TV ratings savior!

Supergirl made her debut on CBS last night, and overnight ratings reveal that the high-flying drama flew in like a speeding bullet with 13 million total viewers and a 3.2 rating in the coveted adults 18-49 demographic. So, what does that mean? Well, it makes the superhero series fall's No. 1 debut!

How's that for some (super)girl power?!

We placed Supergirl at No. 6 in our ranking of the new fall shows, and 80% of E! News readers voted that they "loved it" in our post-premiere poll.

Viewers weren't the only ones smitten with the new superhero on the block. As the girl beneath the cape, Melissa Benoist, told E! News herself, the moment she tried on the iconic costume, it gave her all the feels. "That was a big—that was a really, really crazy feeling. It felt like anything else, it felt like just putting on tights and a leotard and then when I saw myself in the mirror—it's almost like a physical, internal change. I feel like a different person, I really do," she told us ahead of the premiere.

Something tells us that Benoist is going to have some more crazy feelings when she sees the ratings news, too!

Are you surprised Supergirl saved the ratings day? Or did you never doubt her strength? Sound off in the comments below.

Supergirl airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on CBS.
