Nothing is more embarrassing than showing up to a Halloween house party with the same costume as 50 other people.

Unless of course you and your friends are planning on being every different era of Britney Spears, you need to know the secret to avoiding this party foul.

Might we suggest sharing your Halloween candy with the life savers over at Google? They've rolled out "Google Frightgeist," the super informative map that lets you know what the trending costumes are in your hometown.

The top costume in Los Angeles? Star Wars. Angelinos better not party with any people from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, however. Why? Both of the city's top costumes are the same. The number one costume in New York is a superhero, while Hawaii's got an island full of pirates. Just a warning for anyone partying in Marquette, Michigan, you're town might be crawling with clowns this year. Nope!

Hurry up and check out your town's most popular costume to plan your garb accordingly. Too bad these festive celebs didn't have this awesome technology to get them through these Halloween faux-pas!

There can only be one Marilyn Monroe, but that year there were two. To be fair, we're feeling both Bethenny Frankel and Katie Couric's sassy interpretations.

Fergie and Chrissy Tiegen as Honey Boo Boo-style pageant girls killed it. We cannot decide who wore it best, partially because we're a little creeped out by the costumes accuracy.

We loved this costume. Kelly Ripa and Crystal Hefner slayed the season with their Miley Cyrus renditions. We kind of love it when celebs dress up as other celebs.

We're pretty sure we could make an entire gallery of stars who have worn the same costume as dress-up kween, Paris Hilton. Here's a snap of Lauren Conrad rocking the same sailor get up as the heiress. Oops!

Finally! Watch Halloween goddess Heidi Klum tease her costume!
