Who said that black has to be boring?

Blame it on the upcoming holiday season, or perhaps just on our affinity for all things dark and mysterious. If you ask us, you can never be wearing too much of the dark shade. Fashion girls are notorious for stocking up on the staple color, and for good reason. For one, the hue is ultra-slimming and it's difficult to not feel your best when wearing it. While there's really no way to go wrong with the safe-but-daring color, we're currently inspired by the news ways that celebs are making it fresh again for fall.

It doesn't get much better than a one piece suit that instantly pulls your look together. This lightweight silk jumpsuit with a drawstring waist perfectly cinches Selena Gomez' petite frame for a tailored look. The addition of rolled sleeves and a micro-collar make this number polished and workplace appropriate. Selena jazzed up the casual suit with a pair of strappy black heels and pitch dark sunnies.

Ciara does all-black right with a mix of lush textures. Most eye-catching is her knee high boots, which when paired with a jersey dress, draw attention to her legs in all the right ways. To keep the look polished, the performer threw on a fitted moto jacket in a luxe leather.

We all know that black is the most flattering color on the spectrum, but when worn in a form fitting silhouette like Bella Hadid's version, the results are dynamite. To keep eyes on her zip-front, peep hole dress, the youngest Hadid sister accessorized with a pair of classic black pumps and a minimalistic clutch.

Leave it Kylie Jenner to take a tricky trend like culottes and turn it into our new fall must-have. Since the wide-leg pant has the potential to swallow a smaller frame like Kylie's, the mogul balanced her pants out with heeled leather boots for a lift, and a cutout crop top that revealed just the right amount of skin.

If you're not quite ready to retire your staple black camis and leather mini skirts, follow the lead of British pop star Perrie Edwards. To transition your skin-baring basics into fall, invest in a knee-length overcoat for a layer of warmth. If it's not too cold yet, rock the look with strappy sandals or swap them out for black boots if the weather calls for it.
