Law & Order: SVU is bringing back a familiar face for a pivotal episode. E! News has confirmed B.D. Wong will return to the SVU fold as Dr. Huang for a November episode titled "Depravity Standard." He last appeared in the 2014 episode "Thought Criminal" and previously recurred in seasons 2, 3, 13, 14, 15 and served as a series regular from seasons 4 through 12.

Mariska Hargitay broke the news of Wong's return on Instagram with the photo above, captioned: "#LookWhosBack #HuangInTheHouse #TheCourthouseThatIs #Episode9#BDAndMe #PossibleSpinoff?"

Huang's return tied into a case that's plagued Benson for years, TV Guide reports. Look for guest star Tom Sizemore to finally head to trial for the abduction case Benson solved in the show's recent 300th episode, but there are hiccups and Wong's character is called to testify...for the defense.

Wong recently popped up on Mr. Robot as Whiterose and had roles on Madam Secretary, Nurse Jackie and in Jurassic World.

Since Wong left the show, SVU has not had an out LGBT character as part of its main cast.

While talking about current events, like Kim Davis, series star Raúl Esparza said the show should introduce a gay character. "It's just interesting that we're dealing with things about sexuality because it is about basic human dignity and power over another human being so now I'm actually like, 'We absolutely must have a gay character the show!'" Esparza told press on set of SVU. "We absolutely have to get into that conversation!"

Law & Order: SVU airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. on NBC.

(E! and NBC are both part of the NBCUniversal family.)
