On the eve of her 35th birthday, the pregnant reality TV star hit the red carpet of the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Show and Tea—which she was set to host alongside hubby Kanye West—held at the Chateau Marmont in L.A. Tuesday night. The Vogue Fashion Fund is an endowment established to support "the next generation of American fashion designers."
Dressed to kill, Kardashian stepped out wearing a navy top and gold and a high-waisted Altuzarra skirt in navy and gold velvet devoré with a thigh-high slit topped off with a matching navy duster jacket. She paired the whole look with a set of gold t-strap open-toed pumps and minimal jewelry. And yes, this woman is just two months away from her due date!
The reality star did spare a secret look at her beauty preparation, posting a shot of her in the makeup chair surrounded by her glam squad on Twitter. We learned she got her sleek tresses using her very own branded hair straightener and opted for a muted smokey eye with classic winged liner and a nude lip.
Alongside co-hosts Cathy Beaudoin, Mark Holgate and Lisa Love, the West's entertained a crowd filled with fashion's elite, including Chrissy Teigen, Solange Knowles, Reese Witherspoon, Rachel Zoe, and Monique Lhuillier. In addition to tea, attendees had the opportunity to view a fashion show featuring the looks created by the fund's 2015 finalists.
Unlike many of her previously maternity looks, which have clung to her growing baby bump, this ensemble looked far less form-fitting—a welcome surprise in the star's fashion lineup.
Kanye showed far less skin than his wife as he coordinated with her in a similar color scheme, opting for a white short-sleeved button-down shirt and light wash jeans finished off with a pair of camel boots.
The couple, who is expecting their second child, a son, on Christmas Day, looked happy and relaxed despite the impending due date and their gig as hosts for the evening. Seems like the perfect event to kick off birthday celebrations—fashion for a good cause!
