Now in its seventeenth season, Law & Order: SVU has featured many a famous face, either as one of its series regulars, recurring players or one-off guest stars. But believe it or not, there are people in show business who have yet to cross paths with Mariska Hargitay's Olivia Benson and her elite squad of detectives known as the Special Victims Unit.  Let's rectify that!

Below are the 11 stars who have never had a role on the show and are just perfect for a guest spot. Plus, a little helpful suggestion on what they could do.

Betty White
Hey, she's guest starring on Bones, so why not SVU? What if the Hollywood icon was running some kind of elder shakedown operation? Or there's always the tragic route and have her at the center as a victim of sorts.

Rosie O'Donnell
Comedians always have the best roles on SVU and Rosie has range. Could she top Whoopi Goldberg's recent guest stint?

Kyle Howard
He's been acting since he was a kid, but has never come into the SVU squad's crosshairs. Can't you see him as a dad fingered for a crime he didn't commit?

Comedy Central

Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer
The Broad City duo could really step out of their comfort zones with gigs on SVU. Gal pals who get in over their heads and cover up a crime? Setting the DVR now!

Beth Grant
She's been in every show and movie you love, but never on SVUThe Mindy Project MVP could go the heartbreaking route or straight up sinister. Either would be most welcome.

Kelsey Grammer
Don't you miss seeing Kelsey Grammer at the Emmys? A role on SVU could change that.

NBC

Maya Rudolph
Again, comedians are the best when it comes to splash SVU guest gigs. Let Maya bring the drama as a mama whose fighting for her kids.

Lucy Lawless
The Xena star could totally play an authority figure that crosses the line.

Laurie Metcalf
We know she can do comedy and we certainly know she can do great drama. Maybe her Misery role on Broadway will inspire the SVU writers.

Noah Wyle
Can't you see the ER veteran returning to the NBC fold as a politician with some problem?

Law & Order: SVU airs Wednesdays, 9 p.m. on NBC.

(E! and NBC are both part of the NBCUniversal family.)
