Khloe Kardashian is speaking out for the first time since rushing to Lamar Odom's side after the 35-year-old former professional athlete was found unconscious in a Nevada brothel last week.

"The past week has been incredibly difficult. I am so thankful to family, friends and fans, who have sent nothing but prayers and well wishes to Lamar. I also want to take a moment to thank everyone at Sunrise Hospital, including the amazing doctors and nurses for their kindness and diligent work. Under their amazing care, incredible strides have been made. You can never be prepared for an experience like this, but without the outpouring of love and endless prayers that Lamar has received and the strength I was given from my loved ones, it would have been difficult to endure. Thank you for your continued support. God is great!!! XOXO, Khloé," the 31-year-old Keeping Up With the Kardashians star wrote on her website on Tuesday morning.

Yesterday, Odom was discharged from Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas and transported via helicopter to a Los Angeles-area facility. Khloe was photographed exiting the hospital, and she has continued to remain by her ex's side as he recovers since coming out of a coma on Friday.

Odom was seen being rushed into an L.A. area hospital on a gurney last night. He appeared to be sedated, and Khloe was right behind him with two bodyguards.

Most recently, E! News has learned that Lamar is now speaking in full sentences and can swallow and eat food on his own. However, the former Lakers star has a long road to recovery ahead and is currently being treated for aspiration pneumonia.

"You can tell it's taking a toll on Khloé, but she is staying strong for Lamar," a source told E! News.

A second source previously added, "She goes everywhere with him. If Lamar leaves the room for testing, she follows."

Lamar has spoken to Khloe a few times since he came out of a coma Friday, saying, "Hey, baby" and "Good morning."

And while his health is improving day to day, Odom will still need "a lot" of rehab in the coming months.

We're told Odom is "making fast progress" and can move his arms and legs; however, he is not able to stand up, even with assistance.

E! News also reported on Monday that Odom's CT scan came back clean, but there may be some cognitive issues ahead. Additionally, the father of three is no longer wearing an oxygen mask and is "doing great with his breathing," though he is still on dialysis due to kidney failure.

The former NBA star likely suffered multiple strokes following a drug overdose at a Nevada brothel. His father, Joe Odom as well as his children, Destiny Odom and Lamar Odom Jr., their mother, Liza Morales, and his aunt JaNean Mercer all flew to Las Vegas last week in light of Lamar's condition (Khloé arranged for their transportation).

Khloe and Lamar wed in 2009 following a whirlwind engagement. Although the two both signed divorce papers in July, a judge has not signed off due to a file backlog, so the two are still legally married
