Live from New York, it's the return of Tracy Morgan!

After much anticipation, the comedian returned to the Saturday Night Live stage for the first time since suffering a traumatic brain injury in a June 2014 car accident.

In true Tracy style, however, the actor proved this wasn't going to be a mournful night. It was going to be all about laughs and yes, even the accident was fair game.

"People are wondering, 'Can he speak? Does he have 100 percent mental capacity?'" the 49-year-old shared with the audience. "But the truth is, I never did! I might actually be a few points higher now."

He continued, "I'm back. It feels so good to be here. If you didn't see it on the news, I was in a terrible car crash a year ago. It was awful. But it also showed me how much love and support I have in this world."

With Lorne Michaels, Tina Fey and other close friends in mind, Tracy made it clear that he always imagined the possibility that "he could come home."

During the opening monologue, however, he was able to do that and so much more.

After looking back on a 2012 episode of 30 Rock where his character almost died, Tracy was reunited with Fey, Alec Baldwin, Jack McBrayer and Jane Krakowski.

"As you can see everything is going to be just fine," Tracy shared with the audience after the skit. "I've got my family with me, I've got my cast and crew. And I've got Lorne Michaels. So let's be funny."

Like we said before, we're so happy to have you back Tracy! Saturday Night Live airs Saturday nights at 11:30 p.m. on NBC.
