The doctor is remaining in at Fox. The network has ordered a full season of the Morris Chestnut series Rosewood.

"Rosewood has proven to be a real self-starter for us, which is a tremendous feat on this highly competitive night. Todd Harthan, Morris, Jaina, Lorraine and the entire cast and crew have done a fantastic job creating a gorgeous, sexy world that is the perfect complement to Empire," David Madden, president of entertainment at Fox Broadcasting Company, said in a statement.  "The upcoming episodes are so compelling as we build out the family dynamics, and with today's order, we're excited to explore the world of Rosewood even further this season."

The cast of Rosewood also includes Jaina Lee Ortiz, Lorraine Toussaint, Gabrielle Dennis, Anna Konkle and Domenick Lombardozzi. Taye Diggs will recur in a multi-episode arc beginning in November.

The medical drama follows Chestnut's Dr. Beaumont Rosewood, a charismatic private pathologist. The show is averaging a 2.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 7.3 million viewers.

Next week's episode, "Necrosis and New Beginnings," Rosewood and Villa (Ortiz) attempt to seek justice for a murder victim who was an ex-con. Look for Villa to struggle with passionate dreams she's had about Rosewood and discuss them in her therapy sessions with Kat (Nicole Ari Parker).

Rosewood airs Wednesdays, 8 p.m. on Fox.
