Much like Jennifer Lawrence, Jessica Chastain isn't having it when it comes to unequal pay in Hollywood.

The Crimson Peak actress rallied behind Lawrence, who recently published an op-ed called Why Do I Make Less Than My Co-Stars? for Lena Dunham's newsletter, Lenny Letter. In the publication, she candidly described the frustration she has felt for not fighting for wages on par with her high-profile male counterparts, such as American Hustle co-star Bradley Cooper

An Oscar-nominated actress herself, Chastain has worked with her fair share of film's leading men, including Matthew McConaughey, Chris Pratt, and Matt Damon. When it comes to the disparity in paychecks, she agrees 100 percent.

"There's a gender pay gap not just in this industry it's kind of you know like hitting all industries," Chastain told E! News during an interview on the red carpet. "I think Jennifer made a really good point in her article though that sometimes women feel like they don't want to ruffle feathers or they want to be liked."

While it's entirely unfair that men and women continue to make different salaries for the same level of work, Chastain admits a level of responsibility lies with women to right the wrong.

"They feel its wrong to actually ask for what you deserve," the 38-year-old dished to E!. "No ladies, men really like strong women and women like strong women. It's better to say what you feel and how you feel and stand up for what you deserve."

If there's anyone who knows about strong women, it's Chastain, who has played dozens of them, whether it be on-camera as a CIA operative in Zero Dark Thirty or revealing she would rather play a Bond villain over a Bond girl in the latest issue of W Magazine.

While Chastain got to the heart of the matter, her co-star, Tom Hiddleston, drove his point home using a simple equation.

"It's a mathematical certainty all men and women are created equal," he told E! News. "So, we should get equal pay."

It's as simple as that.
