Jenny McCarthy is bummed out over Playboy's latest headline-making editorial decision

The magazine, which was founded in 1953, announced on Tuesday that, starting with the March 2016 issue, nude photographs of models will no longer appear in the mag.

"Playboy will continue to publish sexy, seductive pictorials of the world's most beautiful women, including its iconic Playmates, all shot by some of today's most renowned photographers," the publication said in a statement. "The magazine will also remain committed to its award-winning mix of long-form journalism, interviews and fiction."

McCarthy, who kicked off her Hollywood career as a nude model for the magazine in 1993 and was later named Playmate of the Year, reacted to the news on her SiriusXM talk show, Dirty, Sexy Funny With Jenny McCarthy, on Wednesday and admitted she's disappointed with the mag's decision.

"This is the thing I have a problem with. Playboy to me…is a classy magazine…a lot of people really do read it for the articles," the 42-year-old former View host said.

She continued, noting that publisher Hugh Hefner "worked hard on trying to find that Girl Next Door."

McCarthy, who worked at a Polish grocery store when she first posed for the mag, recalled her experience shooting for the publication.

"When I did my test shoot there, I had one uni-brow and a giant bush to my knees. And they were like, 'You're in,'" she revealed.

She later added, "They really captured that innocence of the women… almost like art...there was nothing ever skanky about the photos."

McCarthy also gave her personal perspective on Playboy and said she used to flip through the magazine at the grocery store.

"I would always pick up the Playboys and think, 'God these women are so beautiful and it's so beautiful,'" she said. "There was nothing that I felt was too embarrassing or gross. And nothing that I'm not proud of today."

In fact, McCarthy would even be willing to pose nude for the magazine one last time.

"I would totally be willing to just take it off one more time. Just to say 'I'll be in the last one,'" she confessed after admitting, "It breaks my heart that it's the end of an era and in solidarity, I will be wearing my panties at half-mast."
