It takes a lot of work to perfect your social media game. But Josh Peck, star of Fox's Grandfathered and a real-life social media expert (dude's got almost 9 million followers on Vine!), is here to help.

"It's so much pressure, between knowing what to post and the right filters," Peck laments to E! News when discussing how to curate the ideal Instagram feed. "God, life is hard!"

Don't worry, he's joking—but also, sort of not at all. Tonight's episode of Grandfathered features Peck's Gerald and his recently un-estranged father, Jimmy (John Stamos), bonding while out on the town during a guys' night.

"I am drinking heavily in this episode, and all sorts of hijinks ensue. And I've got Stamos there the whole time sort of leading me through a drunken night, finally for the first time letting loose," Peck says. "There's no one better to be your wingman on the show in that respect than John."

In real life, there's not really any wingmanning going on, but the two did hang out this weekend at Universal Studios' Halloween Horror Nights. Their wild Saturday night out? Typical party stuff. "We got pretty crazy at Halloweeen Horror Nights," Peck confesses. "We ate funnel cake and cotton candy and did a healthy amount of Instagramming. I mean, that was pretty nuts."

But how do you determine what constitutes "healthy" and what's just annoying? Here are some guidelines, according to Peck:

1. Limit the selfies. "If you're putting out more than one selfie, it's one too many."

2. Compose your shots. "You've got to pick your spots."

3. Don't flood your feed. "It's better to put up one or two a day of well-thought-out, really quality photos than eight or nine photos of just randomness. You're going to clog people's feeds and turn them off."

Words to live by.
