For Bella and Gigi Hadid, their relationship as sisters comes first in an often catty industry.
The 19-year-old model, who has successfully launched her own career amid her sister's success, covers the November issue of Seventeen magazine and opens up about the public's often cruel comparisons to her big sister, who is one of today's top social supermodels.
"I just have to remind myself that she's been doing this forever," Yolanda Foster's daughter says of her 20-year-old sibling's modeling career. "I can't keep comparing myself to her because we're so different."
Still, "people still love to compare and contrast us—what's better about her or what's not that good about me—and it's hard because people are really mean. But I'm her biggest supporter, and she's my biggest supporter. We're not competitive at all."
While the public may try to pit the gorgeous siblings against each other, Bella and Gigi are each other's number one fans. In fact, the brunette stunner recently celebrated her 19th birthday, and her sister took to Instagram to share a sweet throwback pic which she adorably captioned, "Watching over you since day one."
"What people don't really know is that she's actually hilarious," the young beauty reveals of her big sister. "And she can eat whatever she wants. It's really annoying."
Hadid, however, says she has to work hard to stay fit. "I eat a lot of pizza and really unhealthy food. I definitely gain weight and I'm not naturally thin," she admits. "I'm really self-conscious if I go to trainers, so I just do stuff on my own. I go on the treadmill or do yoga and Pilates if I can."
Sisterly comparisons aside, Hadid is also very aware that many people think she looks like Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence.
"I never saw it. But there are some photos that it's really weird and we look very similar," the model shares. "People say it all the time. I'll walk onto set and five people will say, 'You know who you look like?' and I'm like, 'Jennifer Lawrence?' Then they'll say, 'How'd you know I was going to say that?' and I'll go, 'Because I hear it five times a day.'"
