FacebookStudents at University of Texas at Austin are coming together for a "Campus Dildo Carry" in protest of the new "campus carry" law, which would make it legal for licensed gun holders to carry concealed handguns on campus.
But why carry dildos, you ask?
Get this: The Facebook event page, created by Jennifer Jin, reads, "The State of Texas has decided that it is not at all obnoxious to allow deadly concealed weapons in classrooms, however it DOES have strict rules about free sexual expression, to protect your innocence. You would receive a citation for taking a DILDO to class before you would get in trouble for taking a gun to class. Heaven forbid the penis."

The new law will go into effect Aug. 1, 2016, with the Campus Dildo Carry happening on Aug. 24. The protest calls to strap "gigantic swinging dildos" to backpacks in protest.
The hashtag #CocksNotClocks has been started on social media to get the word out with tons of comments from supporters and haters alike.
Sadly, according to Jin's Twitter page, she has been receiving death threats since the news of the protest went viral.

We have to say that this non-violent protest is pretty creative and empowering! Sort of like the millennial equivalent to the old phrase, "make love, not war," don't you think?
At the moment, nearly 5,000 people have RSVP'd as "going" to the event, with attendees being warned to "participate at your own risk."
We think the event page beautifully sums up the vibe of the upcoming protest: "You're carrying a gun to class? Yeah well I'm carrying a HUGE DILDO." Fair enough!
