Demi Lovato finally released the music video for her newest single "Confident," and it's the action-packed, girl power, thrilling experience we all hoped it would be!

The 22-year-old singer gets her own Machete moment in the Robert Rodriguez-directed video, which also happens to feature one of our favorite badass chicks of all time: Michelle Rodriguez!

At first, we're made to believe Lovato and Michelle are enemies who are pitted against each other and forced to fight. However, as the video goes on we come to find out it's quite the opposite—they're actually on the same team!

The two turn into powerful protagonist characters who work together to bring down "the man" (played by Jeff Fahey) and—after a car crash, lots of fighting and some seriously incredible moves—the two drive off into the distance on separate motorcycles.

"Confident" is Lovato's second single off her upcoming album with the same name and is currently our top power anthem. The song and music video represent the singer and her current feminist, empowering movement for herself and her fans.

"I have never been confident enough in my own skin to feel sexy," Lovato told Billboard of the song earlier this month. "Now that I'm feeling great and I feel confident, I'm proud of the skin that I'm in."

She adds, "I'm wanting to share that with the world and showing everyone how you can go from being very insecure with body image issues to feeling so proud of your body that you want to show it to the world."

She reciprocated those feelings during her cover shoot for Cosmopolitan magazine last month, too.

"For the first time in a long time, I feel incredibly EMPOWERED and the MOST BEAUTIFUL I've ever felt on this magazine," Lovato wrote on Instagram of her the Cosmo cover, which received backlash for being too sexy. "It's so liberating to be able to show the world how confident a woman can be once she learns to love herself. It took soul searching a bit of time before I embraced my body therefore I could not have been more excited to do this shoot."
