Justin Bieber pulled an Ed Sheeran.

The "What Do You Mean?" singer got a new tattoo on his stomach in honor of his forthcoming album, Purpose—a move right out of Sheeran's book. Biebs debuted his new ink on Instagram Tuesday with a shirtless selfie that put his tat—the word "purpose"—front and center. "Purpose" is arched around the top of his belly button, which also gives fans a solid look at his six-pack abs.

"#purpose," he captioned the pic. Purpose will be released on Nov. 13, which is the same day One Direction is set to release its final album, Made in the A.M., before taking a hiatus. Justin has been very vocal about the boy band's decision to debut the same day, taking to Snapchat and interviews to call the guys out.

On Snapchat Bieber showed off "the face you make when you come out with an album the same day as Justin Bieber." What does that "face" look like? Well, it resembles someone who is watching a horror movie and suspects someone is lurching around the corner AKA it's not good.

Louis Tomlinson responded to his social media video in his own funny way.

"That face you pull when you're playing the last night at the O2," he said in his own Snapchat video. Tomlinson didn't necessarily slam the singer, but the London O2 is one of the world's most famous venues, and Tomlinson's band sold out six shows there, so you kind of understand where we're going with this...

The 21-year-old pop star also implied to a New Zealand radio station recently that the British crooners were trying to steal his thunder by copying his date. "[They're] not really going on the road much, but we're talking about them now, so it gives them some promo, right?" he told The Edge, per The Daily Mail. "But, whatever. It's whatever. It's gonna be fun. I'm excited to see what happens."

He also said that he thought 1D picked it on purpose, fully knowing it was his big day.

"So, that's probably why they did it," he continued. "I think it was strategy on their part because my release date was first."

We'll just have to wait and see who comes out on top!
