Muted beauty really, really works for Lady Gaga.

The American Horror Story: Hotel star has been showcasing more toned down fashion and makeup looks since the 2015 Emmys, and we can't complain. Not that we don't appreciate Mother Monster's wildest styles (meat dress, we hardly knew ye), but it's almost refreshing to see the singer, well, dressing like a Hollywood star.

Take Gaga's most recent street style looks in New York City. We've spotted the 29-year-old in a trim pink frock featuring a bow-embellished neckline; an oversized coat paired with simple black pumps; a more Gaga-esque shorts and rocker tee look worn with Charlotte Olympia platforms; and a gold lamé mini accented with statement sleeves. None of these looks are boring, but none steer into galactic Armani Privé gown territory either.

Note the makeup, or lack thereof—the star has been sporting nude lips and minimal eye shadow since the start of her AHS: Hotel promo tour.

Cut to Gaga's three recent ultra-sexy, ultra-glam Brandon Maxwell looks (he's her stylist and designer go-to, natch). For the Los Angeles premiere of AHS: Hotel, Mother Monster donned a slim-fitting one-shoulder gown in an eye-catching cranberry hue (her makeup look featured a matching red lip and not much else). Rewind to the 2015 Emmys, when she sported structured Brandon Maxwell gowns on both the red carpet and to Fox's luxe after-party.

The star's sleek black Emmys number gave us plenty of room for pause, while she amped up the Old Hollywood Glam for the post-show bash in a sleek white confection featuring voluminous sleeves. Again, the perfect touch of Gaga, without teetering into the absurd. The beauty look for each? Understated and gorgeous.

Finally, we give you Gaga's look in Los Angeles on Monday: A slit-to-there gown that, while sexy, still offered up a healthy dose of the actress' new style. (Point being that it's highly on point.)
