And so the lion fell in love with the lamb. But this time the lion is the chick and the lamb is the dude.

And now you're all caught up on Stephenie Meyer's new Twilight book, which is a retelling of the original story, but the genders are switched. Life and Death: Twilight Reimagined will have a female version of Edward (Edythe) and a male version of Bella (Beau).  It's a pretty cool concept, as long as Meyer didn't just search and replace "Edward" and "Bella" in her original manuscript and call it a day.

It's the 10-year anniversary of the original Twilight novel coming into the world and Twihards are getting a new novel? It seems like it's been years since the Twilight fandom has had something to obsess over and/or Tumblr about. But now they are rising out of the dark, blinking harshly at the light like the creepy computer generated Renseme baby blinked at the audience in Breaking Dawn. Remember that? Yikes.

So yeah, it's been a big day for Twilight fans, so understandably everyone is a bit emotional and unsure of what to do with this new gender-switched book. People are still processing everything, but that doesn't stop them from tweeting their knee-jerk reactions willy-nilly.

(Side note: people don't use "willy-nilly" enough. Bring it back.)

Do you think it will be updated for 2015, like will Edythe text Beau "Netflix and chill?" instead of just saving him from a rogue van? Well, we're curious enough to check it out. Are you?
