Simon Cowell really is sorry!

The judge who became infamous for his honest critiques and criticism on American Idol has decided to apologize to his X Factor U.K. contestants after a show twist propelled the judge to cuss on television.

It all began when fans were given the control to decide which judge would mentor each category. Rita Ora received the girls, Nick Grimshaw had the boys, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini welcomed the groups and Simon Cowell was given the duty to manage the elders.

As it turns out, Cowell wasn't so pleased with how the U.K. voted and he made it crystal clear in front of the audience.

"For f--ks sake," he blurted out before walking over to the hosts. "Are you winding me up? Are you sure this is the right name in there? Can I have a look?"

To make matters worse, all the elders were more than excited to have Cowell as their guy. Once they saw his reaction, however, some got a bit concerned. "That's really discouraging," one singer said as another person's jaw dropped to the ground.

Shortly after the episode aired, Cowell spoke out on Twitter about his word choice. The normally tough and intimidating judge just so happened to show some remorse for his behavior.

"Sorry for swearing on the show tonight. It's not big and it's not clever," he wrote. "Yes I did apologize to my contestants."

On the bright side, this is the judge who helped create One Direction and Fifth Harmony. If Cowell's on your team, good things can happen.
