Rest assured, humanity. Although style icon Kiernan Shipka is someone who, at 15, dresses better than we ever have in our entire lives, she can also get just as awkward as the rest of us do when confronted with a celeb she's totally obsessed with.

Shipka channels that fangirl energy into her newest movie, Fan Girl, which debuts tonight at 9 p.m. on ABC Family, when she plays teenage filmmaker Telulah Farrow, a.k.a. the No. 1 fan of the band All Time Low, who decides to make a movie about her music idols.

E! News has an exclusive sneak peek of the first meeting between Telulah and All Time Low singer Alex Gaskarth, and—spoiler alert!—it doesn't exactly go well for the tongue-tied teen.

In real life, Shipka has had a similar moment when she came face to face with one of her all-time favorite actors.

"Tony Hale was someone I actually did fangirl over, in person," the Mad Men star dishes to E! News. "He sort of came up to me and then I kinda just started saying words that were related to his characters on Veep and Arrested Development. I don't think I got out a full sentence, but it's cool, we're chill."

While you won't see Hale in Fan Girl, you WILL see and hear plenty of All Time Low, as their music is used throughout the movie. Also starring is Meg Ryan (yes, Sally herself!) as Telulah's mom, who tries to connect with her daughter by bringing her closer to her favorite band.

Fan Girl airs tonight at 9 p.m. on ABC Family.
