Katherine Jenkins Gives Birth to a Baby Girl Named Aaliyah Reign Levitas: Get the Details!

Katherine Jenkins is officially a mom!

The Welsh singer gave birth to a baby girl named Aaliyah Reign Levitas, she announced in an Instagram post Wednesday. This is the first child for Katherine, 35, and husband Andrew Levitas, 38.

The proud parents both posted pictures of their new addition to social media, noting that little Aalyiah "came loudly into the world weighing almost 7lbs and surrounded by love."

"We are absolutely besotted with her & grateful for the beautiful blessing of this happy, healthy, little miracle," the couple added.

"Mummy is recovering well," Andrew noted, "and Daddy couldn't be prouder of his two gorgeous princesses."

Katherine and Andrew, an American painter, sculptor, actor and artist, were married in September 2014, and announced just seven months later that they were expecting a baby girl! Prior to her pregnancy, Katherine opened up to Sunday People about her desire to start a family, saying, "Now I'm married, I do want kids."

"I do really want a family," she went on. "Please God, touch wood, we'll be lucky and they'll be fit and healthy. That's all I care about...Having kids is on the list of priorities. We'll see what happens."

Now that Katherine is a mum, she'll likely take some time time off work. "I don't want to be dragging my children around on aeroplanes," she said previously in an interview with Hello! magazine. "I know it works for some people, but it's just a personal thing for me. I want to be at home, I want to be there. I'd love my kids to have a really happy, secure childhood because it's so important."
