The bride and groom charged Jessica Baker and her husband for two plates of herb-crusted walleye, plus a service and tax charge. The cost came out to a grand total of $75.90. Maybe we could understand if they missed a meal of gold-flecked Beluga caviar but walleye? Eye-roll.
"You've got to be kidding me," Baker said in an interview.
The invoice also stated "...Reimbursement and explanation for no show, card, call or text would be appreciated." Passive-aggressive, much?
Baker says she had to miss the wedding because her mother could no longer babysit their children. "She called at the last minute and had something come up and said I can't make it." Unfortunately bringing the children was not an option either, as the invite specified no kids were allowed.
Needless to say, the couple decided against paying the bill, expressing what we were thinking: What the actual f--k? "I guess I don't know what the right answer would have been. What the right thing to do would have been," Baker said.
After sending the bill to her local news station, the outlet posted it to their Facebook page. Baker has since revived over 2,000 opinions about her situation.
"The whole thing is just kind of silly," Baker said. Preach!
