YouTubeMichael Fassbender has a very simple response when asked about the Oscar buzz that is building for his new film Steve Jobs.
"It makes me feel good," he told E! News with a big smile while promoting the biopic about the late Apple co-founder.
His costar Kate Winslet interjected, "It bloody should!"
If there was an award for most memorized lines, Fassbender would certainly be the frontrunner in that competition.
The script is signature Aaron Sorkin with a lot—and we mean, a lot—of dialogue.
"It honestly takes me longer than the average person would," Fassbender said. "I just read it over and over again and kind of go crazy and keep reading it and go a little more crazy and just keep reading it."
Winslet said they felt "quite sharpened up" during filming.
"It did sort of take a rebooting of the brain to have that level of concentration and it made me realize how much I really didn't like working while I was pregnant because my brain was just dog poo and I couldn't really remember my lines," Winslet said. "I didn't feel awake enough quite honestly.
"But this was quite different than that," she continued. "Thankfully, I wasn't pregnant while making this film."
In the film (in theaters Oct. 9), Winslet plays Joanna Hoffman, who worked closely with Jobs during Apple's early years. She is seen in the movie as someone who had the ability to keep Jobs in check and was certainly one of the few people who stood up to him.
