Is the bromance dead? Say it ain't so!
After eight seasons coaching The Voice alongside one another, it appears Blake Shelton and Adam Levine may have finally hit a rough patch. In this outtake from Monday's season nine premiere, exclusive to E! News, Levine and fellow coaches Gwen Stefani and Pharrell Williams have been losing out on country artists to Shelton—aka the leader of the "country mafia"—and the Maroon 5 frontman is not taking it too well.
In fact, he's not taking it well at all.
After losing the night's final artist Barrett Barber to his bestie, Adam ripped into Blake's fallback strategy for connecting with contestants: "'I'm from a place' and they're like, 'Well, I'm from a place' and, like, 'Okay!' Dumbest thing ever! Can't you be from different places and, like, do stuff? It's so stupid. It's a dumb, stupid thing."
"If it doesn't bother you, why are you still talking?" Blake shoots back, barely concealing his amusement over the freak-out.
"No, you bother me," Adam lobs back. Meow!
Check out the video above because Adam's rant doesn't stop there and you really don't want to miss the rest!
Blake and Adam's lovingly antagonistic relationship promises to be a constant throughout season nine, as seen when E! News' Maria Menounos recently sat down with the coaches and it was Mr. Shelton's turn to turn the screws on his good buddy following Adam's decision to shave his head. With friends like these, who needs enemies?! Check out the hilarity below!
The Voice's premiere event continues tonight at 8 p.m. on NBC.
