Does Alan Cumming have a thing for Ugly Betty stars? The Good Wife has added Vanessa Williams (you know, Wilhelmina Slater on the hit ABC series) as a new love interest for Cumming's Eli Gold. Cumming's character previously had a romantic interest in Betty Suarez herself, America Ferrera.

Williams will play Courtney Boalt, described as "an extremely successful, self-made businesswoman who is potentially interested in backing Peter Florrick's campaign for president." While exploring Peter's campaign, she meets Eli Gold and there's a mutual attraction. She debuts in November.

"There are very few names you can put side-by-side that make you laugh," executive producers Robert and Michelle King said in a statement. "Alan Cumming and Vanessa Williams are at the top of that list. We couldn't be more excited."

Williams' long list of TV credits includes The Mindy Project, 666 Park Ave., Desperate Housewives and Boomtown.

Williams joins a growing list of TV veterans who have joined the CBS legal drama for its seventh season. Michael J. Fox will return, Jeffrey Dean Morgan will play a new investigator hired by Alicia Florrick (Julianna Margulies), Saturday Night Live's Jane Curtin will appear as a judge and Margo Martindale is set to tangle with Cumming's Eli Gold on the campaign trail. Cush Jumbo will also be on hand as a new series regular, attorney Lucca Quinn. Look for guest appearances by Christopher McDonald, Bridget Regan and Mo Rocca in the season seven premiere.

When The Good Wife returns on Sunday, Oct. 4, Alicia will be busy working her way up from the bottom again having embarked on starting her own firm. She's looking for clients…in bond court. Meanwhile, Chris Noth's Peter Florrick begins his presidential campaign.

The Good Wife season seven premieres Sunday, Oct. 4 at 9 p.m. on CBS.
