SnapchatGregg Sulkin is apologizing to fans after the N-word appeared on his Snapchat.
On Friday evening, a picture of the Faking It star and his girlfriend Bella Thorne surfaced on his personal account. What could have been an ordinary selfie, however, quickly turned controversial when the text "What up n---a" appeared on top of the photo.
Soon after the message was made live, some fans quickly criticized the actor for his inappropriate language.
On Saturday afternoon, however, Sulkin said that he wasn't behind the post by any means.
"Unfortunately my social media accounts were hacked yesterday and my phone was stolen," he tweeted. "Things were posted to my account that I find appalling and unacceptable."
He continued, "I believe that being part of a religious minority myself, racism is an ignorance that I do not and will not tolerate in my life. I would like to apologize to my fans and anyone that was offended by the postings that were unfortunately beyond my control."
On Friday evening, Thorne also tweeted that her boyfriend had "lost his phone" and that whoever was tweeting wasn't him.
The incident comes as the Hollywood couple and friend Bella Hadid were forced to be "stranded" at an airport after their plane crashed into a fence.
"A model, my handsome boy, and the freak in the middle," she wrote on Instagram Saturday morning . "Hmmm…What to do when your plane crashes into a fenced wall and you have 12 hours to kill at the airport?"
Not the best weekend for anyone in this party.
