Kate Gosselin is denying a report that she recently went through a breakup, adding that she was never in a relationship.
The 40-year-old, who rose to fame as a reality star with her then-husband Jon Gosselin and their eight children on Jon & Kate Plus 8, had been linked to millionaire Jeff Prescott, 52, since October. They never confirmed a relationship. Entertainment Tonight reported on Wednesday they had split and that Prescott was dating a younger woman. He has not commented.
"Sorry guys. You've been 'duped' by the tabloids again!" Kate, who now appears with her kids on Kate Plus 8, tweeted on Thursday. "There was no breakup recently/at all. Gotta b in a relationship in order 2 'break up'!"
Her ex-husband, who does appear to be in a new relationship himself with Pennsylvania woman Colleen Conrad, is meanwhile trying to clear up some social media confusion.
Radar Online had reported Jon, 38, had responded to a link to the ET story that one of his friends had shared on Facebook, posting an emoji showing hands raised in celebration. The website posted what appeared to be a mobile screenshot of the exchange. The man's profile pic matches one Jon had used on his personal Facebook account this week.
He told ET the account referenced was not his, adding that it is "a constant source of frustration, to see impostors post the most ridiculous things."
"I have teenage kids now who are on social media," he said. "They read everything, and the last thing I'm going to do is trash their mother."
