On Wednesday, Rocker John Mellencamp, 63, and supermodel Christie Brinkley, 61, were photographed riding in the backseat of a car in New York City and both grinning from ear to ear. It marked the second time the two were spotted together in two days.
The two had sparked romance rumors when they were photographed leaving a restaurant at a hotel on Monday. Mellencamp and Brinkley have not commented about the status of their relationship.
The two have gone on a couple of dates together and had had run into each other at a screening of the Bill Murray film Rock the Kasbah over the summer, E! News has learned exclusively. Mellencamp, an Indiana native, was recently in New York City for business reasons, which included an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and Brinkley accompanied him to the taping.
"They are spending time together," a source told E! News.
The "Jack and Diane" singer had previously dated Meg Ryan, 53, for more than three years before they broke up in 2014.
"Meg is an angel. She was just an angel sent to me at the right time," Mellencamp had said on Howard Stern's Sirius XM radio show.
Mellencamp has been married three times and has five children.
Brinkley was married four times and has three children. Her most famous husband was rock singer Billy Joel. The two were married for nine years in the '80s and '90s and she appeared in his 1983 music video for "Uptown Girl." The two share a daughter, Alexa Ray Joel, 29, who is also a singer.
