Ian Somerhalder's Twitter Hacked! Vampire Diaries Actor Did Not Profess His Love for Ex-Girlfriend Nina Dobrev

User named @clou9nin3 took control of the TV star's account and started tweeting on his behalf

Ian Somerhalder might want to change his Twitter password.

The Vampire Diaries actor's Twitter account was hacked Tuesday around 9:45 p.m. ET. The hacker tweeted for about 20 minutes before writing, "I am so sorry," and deleting the tweets. When the hacker first revealed that the account was seized, he or she asked his followers, "who even is ian somerhalder."

One of the tweets professed his or her love for Nina Dobrev, Somerhalder's ex-girlfriend and former co-star on the hit CW series. (Somerhalder married to Nikki Reed in April; Dobrev is dating Austin Stowell.)

The hacker praised the hit USA television series Mr. Robot (which, perhaps not coincidentally, is about a hacker) and asked Somerhalder's Twitter followers to to help him or her get in contact with the TV star. The hacker identified himself/herself as @clou9nin3; the account was deactivated before Wednesday.

Somerhalder has yet to comment on the hack.

This isn't the first time a stranger has taken over his account, though. Somerhalder shared an exchange he had with one hacker in the summer of 2013, in which he wrote, "You are an ass my friend. Get out of my acct..." The hacker tried to make amends with Somerhalder, writing: "I have nothing but respect for you - was just having a little fun. No hard feelings?" understandably, the actor was not amused by the "fun," writing, "Really not cool... I appreciate the message though.. Yes please stop. Have a great day."

Somerhalder was hacked again in April 2015, when someone took control of his account and went on a favoriting spree. "Clearly I was hacked, not cool #hacked I'm in the process of finding out who it was-PLEASE be respectful with your comments. Truly respectful!" Somerhalder told his 6 million followers.

Earlier this week, the actor revealed that he's looking forward to start a family with Reed. "Oh, hell yes! Absolutely. You know, it's all about practice. It's not practice makes perfect—it's perfect practice," Somerhalder, 36, told Entertainment Tonight. The actor then joked, "I'm actually pregnant right now!" "It's the most incredible thing to be happy and secure in something. It's a pretty crazy time and place to bring a child into this turbulent and insane world—but I really can't wait to do it and really just love it."
