Kim Zolciak Biermann is stepping out of her comfort zone and she's not afraid to let you know that. The Don't Be Tardy star hit the Dancing With the Stars dance floor with partner Tony Dovolani and received a pretty low score. The duo danced to "Hey Mama" by David Guetta ft. Nicki Minaj, Afrojack and Bebe Rexha and received a total of 12 out of 30. And there were tears.

"It's a lot to take in," Kim told E! News about the DWTS experience. "I think that yes, I get the dance, but letting go is a very hard thing to do for somebody who is in such control…it's something I need to work on. I'll work on it until I win."

As for those tears, hey, she still has a heart. "For me it was tears of joy, happiness. I'm really proud of me, even though they don't think I did great, in my mind I did great," she told us.

The Bravo reality star left her children in in Atlanta to come to Los Angeles to do the show. "This is a big step for me," she said. "A minute seems like a lifetime." But Kim was quick to praise her pro partner. "I'm just really grateful."

As for that skimpy costume that showed off her infamous waist, well, that waist is "definitely genetics," she said.

Dancing With the Stars' two-night premiere continues tonight at 8 p.m. on ABC.
