Nickelodeon is taking #TBT to the extreme: Thanks to teasing messages from a mysterious Twitter account (formerly for TeenNick's "The '90s Are All That" programming block), the Internet is abuzz with rumors that the preferred home of after-school programming for every kid who came of age in the '90s is bringing back your favorite shows on a brand-new network called The Splat.

The account used to promote the midnight-to-4 a.m. block, which has aired repeats of classics such as Are You Afraid of the Dark?, Legends of the Hidden Temple, Guts and many more, began tweeting missives from Brooklyn's '90s fest over the weekend with the hashtag #TheSplatIsComing, teasing what many believe to be a brand-new channel that will air your favorite Nicktoons.

There's even a promo video on YouTube, featuring old Nick jingles over footage from Rugrats, Rocko's Modern Life, Hey Arnold, Angry Beavers and more.

But the question remains: What's it all for? Nickelodeon won't confirm anything, but speculation online is leaning toward a whole new channel—though an expanded programming block or a streaming web portal are both equally likely options.

In a recent interview, Nickelodeon's president of content and development, Russell Hicks, said that the network was hoping "to bring back ideas, shows that were loved, in a fresh new way. We are getting ready to bring back some of the ones they've told us multiple times they want to have brought back."

At the time, the Internet went bananas about reboots, but could he have been referring to a new channel all along?

What do you think The Splat will be? Leave your suggestions in the comments below!
