No wonder Emmy Rossum needs sunglasses—her bling is blinding!

The actress and her fiancé, Sam Esmail, stepped out for lunch at Lemonade in Beverly Hills on Sunday afternoon and were photographed for the first time since announcing their engagement in late August. E! News has the exclusive first look at the Shameless star's diamond ring from her writer/director love.

The couple has yet to reveal the details surrounding the proposal.

Rossum, 29, and Esmail, 37, met in 2013 while working together on the movie Comet, released in 2014. The actress and director made their red carpet debut as a couple at the movie's premiere that summer. "He's a bit of a nerd," Rossum revealed during an interview on Live! With Kelly & Michael in October 2014.

Asked whether she and Esmail had talked about settling down, the actress demurred and told co-hosts Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan, "I don't know...This is way too early in the morning for us to be thinking about that right now."

Even so, Rossum sparked engagement rumors after she wore a ring on that finger in December. "Emmy is not engaged," the star's rep assured E! News at the time.

This will be the second marriage for Rossum, as the You're Not You star was married to music executive Justin Siegel from 2008 to 2010. Asked in Cosmopolitan's October issue whether she would ever remarry, Rossum replied, "I hope I do. Honestly, I was so young. I don't think I knew what marriage meant. My parents were never married, and I was teased in school and called a bastard. So the idea of marriage as safety forever was idealized in my head, and we rushed into it."

Because of that experience, Rossum was ready for someone like Esmail, who created USA's hit series Mr. Robot. So, what did that teach the actress above love? "Don't be afraid to go all in and be vulnerable," she said. "It's scary but worth it!"

Unlike her character Fiona Gallagher on Showtime's Shameless, Rossum prefers nice guys. "I don't gravitate to the jock; it's the nerdy guy in the corner," she said.

There's no shame in that.
